Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART) Services
Real-Time Accessibility for Everyone
Applied Development offers CART services (real-time transcription) for people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or who benefit from captioning as an alternative to sign language interpretation. CART also supports people with learning disabilities who may need text access.
Our experienced transcribers convert spoken English into text instantly displayed on an employee’s monitor, a presentation screen, or through secure streaming for remote assignments. When needed, we also provide equipment such as stenotype machines, laptops, and real-time software.
Our Process & Expertise
Just like with our interpreter services, our Diversability Program Manager ensures every transcriber is the best fit for the assignment. Using our vetted database of professionals, we match each client with a CART provider who meets both the technical requirements and the communication needs of the employee and organization.
All of our transcribers follow federal government protocols, ethics, and confidentiality standards. Many hold industry-recognized certifications including:
- NCRA Certified CART Provider (CCP)
- Certified Real-time Reporter (CRR)
- Certified Broadcast Captioner (CBC)
Trusted by Federal Agencies
Applied Development has delivered CART services to multiple federal agencies, including the Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). We often provide CART alongside ASL interpretation for seamless accessibility.
