Applied Development Named to The Inc. 5000 Series: DC Metro’s Top Companies

We are proud to announce that Applied Development has been named to the inaugural Inc. 5000 Series: DC Metro’s Top Companies list. We achieved 329% growth from 2016-2018, allowing us to take the number 27 spot among the 250 fastest growing companies in the D.C., Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia metropolitan region.

About the Companies on the List

2020 is the first year that Inc. has awarded these honors to regional companies rather than focusing on a national list. The companies that received this award saw their combined two-year revenue total soar 106% on average for a collective $6.5 billion in 2018. Altogether, these companies also created 41,000 jobs for employees working in the D.C. Metro area.

Applied Development’s Place on the List

We are excited to be recognized as a company representing the diversability (diverse ability) community in Maryland and the surrounding metropolitan area. It gives us the opportunity to help more government entities and private companies provide better accessibility to people who need it.

CEO Kimberly Citizen also commented on Applied Development’s spot as one of the most diverse companies on the list. “We are the only company with a black female veteran in leadership. It is an honor to be in this position and to watch our company grow as quickly as it has in the last two years. I am proud of the vision that Biffrey and I are achieving together and of the team that works hard to add value to it every day.”

Inc. also wrote a feature article on Applied Development.

On June 3rd, Kimberly and Biffrey will be attending the Inc. 5000 Series: D.C. Metro Summit & Awards ceremony at Hook Hall in Washington, D.C.
